I am attempting to use the mapping node to map from a database to XML. I have two Issues

1. When I create my connection to Oracle none of the tables show up. There is no + there to see my view my folders?
2. I created a connection DB2 but it is not available to me in the Mapping Node editor?

Did I miss a step?

I had a similar requirement with just the fact that i was trying to send message to Oracle (XML to oracle table schema).

I had tried using the RDB Definition File. But when you were to choose the required table while creating the RDB Definition file, NO tables show up in my new MessageMap. And if you were to create the RDB Definition file with its default table selection settings then it would import ALL the table definitions of the database.

Ultimately i had to make my destination schema as an XSD (matching the DB schema) and go ahead.

Hi goldym,

Had made this note on how to configure the database node sometime back...You could check if it works...I remember getting the list of tables with it....for Oracle database.

Quote:
Database Name: Service Name(Oracle),Datasource name DB2)
UserId/Password: Database Vendor Type: OracleXi, DB2 Universal Database VX.X (X-Version)
For Oracle Host: XXX.XXX.XXX.XX
For Oracle Port: 1521
JDBC Driver: Oracle JDBC Driver(Oracle), IBM DB2 APP DRIVER(DB2)
Class location: C:\oracle\ora90\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip(Oracle), C:\IBM\SQLLIB\java\db2java.zip(DB2)

Regards.

Do you know if Oracle needs to be installed locally if you are trying to connect to a remote DB?

Oracle v8 is not supported by WBIMB 5 or 6.

Supported levels of Oracle are documented here:
