All,
I am installing ICS 4.3 on Windows 2003 Server. I installed DB2 and WebSphere MQ. And when I am installing ICS 4.3, WebSphere Business Integration ToolSet 4.3 (Administrative and Development) does not show up in the installer. But, the same ICS installer shows up ToolSet(Administrative and Development) on Windows XP machine. Could anyone please help me out with this installation.
What exactly I need to do?
For your information, the machine where I am doing the installation has been formatted and Windows 2003 Server OS has been installed and I did clean installation for DB2 and MQ.
I greatly appreciate your suggestions!
Thank you _________________ voyager |

At what point are you getting this?
After the installation or during the installation? |

Master,
I figured out the problem. I have installed ICS 4.3 in Windows 2000 compatability mode and it worked.
Thank you very much!! _________________ voyager |

Hi,
I am getting the same problem that you got. I am trying to install ICS 4.3 in Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition. I am cannot see the options for InterChange Server Toolset installation. But you have said that you could get it by setting Windows 2000 Compatibility mode.
How can I do that? |

By searching here for Compatability mode and finding the last time the specific instructions for this were given. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi Jeff,
Thanks again!!!
I just searched for compatibility in Help and Support and got it done. I was able to see the options and got the Toolset also installed. But I didnt have time (as I was leaving for home) to post a message soon after I did it, that I was able to do it.
Anyway, Thanks a million for the help.

Hi Voyager,
Thanks a lot for the information you posted in this site about ICS installation on Windows 2003. But I would like to know what version of the adapters that you installed- 2.4 or 2.6. ? Also, did you change the compatibility mode to 2000 for the installation of adapters also?
I installed 2.6 adapters framework and JDBC adapter in 2003 mode, but I am not able to start the adapter. If I specify 2000 compatibility mode for the same, then, it says that the platform for the framework is not compatible for installing the adapter.
Could you please tell me what are the adapters you installed and in what compatibility mode?
One more help, if you have any sample programs, even in any site, please let me know. I am just starting with ICS. So, I am finding it very difficult even to run a project.
Thanks again!
Regards,
Thripura Sundari. |

Dear Vennela,
I was not able to start the adapters properly in the sense that it kept on saying some files are missing in each adapter. But, later, I uninstalled all the adapters, and tried reinstalling one by one, but finally what is now working is ICS 4.3 with adapter framework 2.6, and jdbc adapter for this version of framework. I actually need the web service adapters for this version, but I dont have them.
Anyway, I would like to know what are the sets of adapters that can be used possibly, and with what configurations/settings are required to use adapters that correspond to 2.4 with adapter framework 2.6. For example, web service adapter corresponding to adapter framework 2.4 to work with adapter framework 2.6 with some configuration settings(as I have adapter framework 2.6 installed).
If I am not clear, please let me know.
Regards,

This is from IBM website,
Does V4.3 support older versions of Adapter Framework?
No. ICS 4.3 requires Adapter Framework 2.6 as it provides JRE 1.4.2 support used internally by ICS, while older releases only support JDK 1.3.
Does V4.3 support older releases of adapters?
Yes V4.3 supports the 2.4 release of adapters that V4.2.2 supports, providing the Adapter Framework used is version 2.6 or later. And not the version shipped with the 2.4 adapter release. Older versions of adapters before version 2.4 or CrossWorlds Connectors are not supported.

When you have your AF updated to 2.6 why not upgrade your WebServices adapter to 3.4.2?There is a problem with WebServices 3.4.0 adapter,It does not send the SOAP response back from the ICS to the inbound connector. That issue is fixed with the release 3.4.2.
These are the working scenarios for ICS 43
ICS 43 AF 2.6.0 Any Adapters(That came with/after AF 2.6)
ICS 4301 AF 2.6.0.2 LAIF Any Adapters(That came with/after AF 2.6) |

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the information. I shall either try getting adapters supporting 2.6AF or uninstall ICS 4.3 and install ICS 4.2.
