Hi,

Is it possible to set permission for user "mqm" for putting messages to specific queue without creating "mqm" user? Creation of user is impossible becouse of "mqm" group in Windows server...
I need this almost impossible thing as earlier there were only Linux servers and everything was set up on a default "mqm/mqm" user/group and change of this user will mean a lot of reconfiguration...

On Unix authorization may be entered by user but are store at the group level anyway.

Enjoy

Which is quite a gotcha. You think you are setting the permissions for a single user, and suddenly everyone in the same primary group, as that user, gets the authorities.

Cheers,

Yes, Unix is Unix, but the problem is with a Windows server... I realy woldn't like an idea of reconfiguring the whole system - all currently perfecly working servers...

So let's be consistent.
A) the qmgrs used to be on Unix
B) On Unix the authorities are saved at group level
C) The qmgrs are being mutated to windows
D) create mqm group on windows (should already be there and make the users needing to use the qmgr part of the mqm group and any other group mqm might have been part of in Unix. And remember MQ does not support nesting groups (Windows)

Personally I would go with an mquser group that would allow me to do a finer grading of the authorities. mqm has all permissions on a qmgr...

Enjoy
