simple question..

but I couldn't see which redbook had the info. I was wondering what is the length that a channel name can be when defining it, for example in a TST file.


DEFINE CHANNEL (MYLONGCHANNELNAME.TO.YOURLONGCHANNELNAME)

The Maximum number of characters that can be used in a channel name is 20. You can find this information in the WMQ Systems Administration Guide.

Just so you know this is a result of TCP/IP limitations.

The maximum number of characters in the name of a Queue Object is 48.
