I was able to successfully insall FP9 for Windows MQ 5.3 on my XP Pro development box and get everything working. I did have to insall the FP using the MQPINUSEOK=1 flag, but after that all was well.
HOWEVER, we tried applying FP9 to a Win2K Server box, the FP didn't launch at first because files were in use even though everything was shut-down, so we used the MQPINUSEOK=1 flag again, but we then got the error: AM4756, which according to IBM:

We have to uninstall MQ and reinstall??? I find this way too hard to believe. Anyone else run into this or having any advice?
Thanks... _________________ Leigh Kendall |

Additionally, if it makes any difference, we are using Terminal Services to manage the Win2K server. We did not have issues while installing it. _________________ Leigh Kendall |

OK... got it!
Thanks to Roger's post and other replies, I turned off the WMI service which seemed to be the culprit.

I think Jeff mentioned something about the Alert Monitor. How in the world does one stop that anyway? I couldn't find any way to stop it. Anyone know? That didn't seem to have an impact since it WAS running after I turned off WMI and things installed OK after that. _________________ Leigh Kendall |
