I was able to successfully insall FP9 for Windows MQ 5.3 on my XP Pro development box and get everything working. I did have to insall the FP using the MQPINUSEOK=1 flag, but after that all was well.

HOWEVER, we tried applying FP9 to a Win2K Server box, the FP didn't launch at first because files were in use even though everything was shut-down, so we used the MQPINUSEOK=1 flag again, but we then got the error: AM4756, which according to IBM:
http://tinyurl.com/3qh5w

We have to uninstall MQ and reinstall??? I find this way too hard to believe. Anyone else run into this or having any advice?

Thanks...

Additionally, if it makes any difference, we are using Terminal Services to manage the Win2K server. We did not have issues while installing it.

OK... got it!

Thanks to Roger's post and other replies, I turned off the WMI service which seemed to be the culprit.

I think Jeff mentioned something about the Alert Monitor. How in the world does one stop that anyway? I couldn't find any way to stop it. Anyone know? That didn't seem to have an impact since it WAS running after I turned off WMI and things installed OK after that.
