I know we have to put up with it but.....
It's was time to reboot my T23 IBM ThinkPad.
OK so I have a few applications open including Outlook Express, Visio, putty, radmin WMQElplore, notepads, Adobe etc. etc.
So I do the three finger salute. Tab to Shutdown and select "Restart".
30 minutes later I come back and the stupid thing is sitting there asking if it's "OK" to stop some process that is not responding......... Yes or No....
Well gees, I dunno.
Lets see.....
Did I not hold down the Crtl key and the Alt key and the Delete key, then select "Shutdown" then select "Restart"?
Can anyone do that by accident? _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial.

Probably its rare and least anybody would come up with key combianations CTRL + ALT + DELETE , Tab , Shutdown .. blah ...
so it may not be by accident ..
As avid users of computers most of us are used to C + A + D key sequence for various reasons .. logging on , to get the task manager and so on ..
Unlike dumb UNIX systems , who dont even bothered to ask when you type rm -rf * ... a stupid question by the system , do you really want to do is far better ??? ...
I believe in thinking/asking twice before doing anything .. atleast at situations when something destructive or of greater magnitude is being done - its very logical and humanly agreeable ..
Windows may be dumb enought to ask , but it may never leave you as dumb you might have by doing something unintenionally out of habit C + A + D sequence ... All in all , You may never regret for what you might have did with those age old questions ....
It makes sense to me atleast ... |
