I came across a QM running on version WMQ5.3.0.5 for which
I was unable to understand an entry in the qm.ini file

Broker:
SyncPointIfPersistent=yes

I did searched through all the IBM documentation and this site of course
but of no use.

Can some one explain what does that mean and any pointers to the documentation will also be helpful.

And there is no MQSI/WBIMB installed on the box.

Hi,

It is part of publish/subscribe as far as I know:

Publication to subscribers is once and once only for persistens messages. For non persistent messages deleviry to subscribers is also once and once only unless SyncPointIfPersistent=yes is
specified and the broker or Queue Manager stops abruptly. In that case the message may be lost to one or more subscribers.
