Hi all,

I have few queries? Could anybody answer my queries?

1) How long will it take for a beginner to learn MQseries?
2) What is the pre requisite for leaning MQseries?
3) What are the job openings for MQseries?

Thanks

1) Depends on how you go about learning and how much exposure you have to it. You can take WMQ Classes at a number of places but when you dig in and get your hands dirty is when you really start to learn.
2) Good technical background. Knowledge of Unix, Microsoft and other operating systems/platforms.
3) Usually quite abundant even in low demand times for other technical areas.

You didn't mention which avenue you wanted to pursue, Administation or Development.

If you choose the Adminstration route, a thick-skin and a sense of detachment, will surely prove beneficial once you've completed your studies and are ready to apply your wares.

Search for the phrases 'treat us like <insert expletive here>' and 'MQ is broken' for posts expressing the vews from forum participants.

I notice you've avoided stating similar attributes for an MQ Developer....

Based on the countless threads I've read in these forums, it seems the complaints from MQ Administators easily out number those from MQ developers, 100 to 1. So, I'm not so sure how difficult the life of a MQSeries developer really is (or how much abuse they take).

Indeed and a great many of them are Administrators complaining about Developers.

Myself included.

Again, what do you want to do?

Program? Or manage systems?
