Hi there,
I have just installed MQ 7.1 on my Linux box (Scientific Linux 6.1) - based on RHEL
MQ is installed to /opt/mqm etc and I have a queue manager called "QM01" working happily ....I can use strmqm perfectly and the sample programs work 100% with it....
Next I installed "ms0t_mqexplorer_71_linux_x86_64" to /opt/ibm and the installation was perfect....but now when I launch the explorer I can see nothing under "Queue Managers"? Surelly it would pick up my QM01 queue manager?
Stupid question....does it also need to be installed under /opt/mqm? I also noted an eclipse folder in my MQ server install.....but when I open that eclipse it seems to only has the Java perspective?
BTW: I have added myself to the "mqm" group....perhaps it is some other "access denied" issue that prevents the queue manager from coming up in the explorer?
Thanks for the help

log out, log back in and start the MQE. See if you can then see the qmgr.

Hi there,
I gave that a try.....still no luck ;-(
BTW: Is the eclipse bundled with WMQ supposed to also display queue managers etc or is it just for Java stuff?
Thanks

Hi there,
I see on the MQ Explorer itself is says:
"With this installation, only remote queue managers are available. To add a remote queue manager, right-click 'Queue Managers', and select 'Add Remote Queue Manager'. Local queue manages are only available with a Server installation"
Where do I download the Websphere MQ explorer that will display LOCAL queue managers? I thought "ms0t_mqexplorer_71_linux_x86_64" was the one?
Thanks

Hi there,
Solved now....I installed the "MQSeriesConfig-7.0.1-3.x86_64.rpm....and copied the eclipse plugins etc from /opt/mqm/eclipse into the eclipseSDK33 diriectory.....
And had to add /opt/mqm/java/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH....all working now

On Windows XP, my WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 does not automatically display remote queue manager connects and disconnects. For example, I must manually refresh to see objects under a connected queue manager.
Whenever WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 is restarted I have to manually select individual queue managers in all my sets. Queue manager set memberships are not being preserved after WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 "Export MQ Explorer Settings..." and "Import MQ Explorer Settings..."
Is anyone else having similar issues?

Is anyone else using WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 on Windows XP? If so, are you experiencing display and refresh problems with queue manager sets?
The display problems do not show up in the stand-alone MS0T support pack. The IBM Change Team asked me to disable my "Service Definition" plug-in. That fixed some, but not all, of the problems.
WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 plug-ins are accessible via:
Window->Preferences->WebSphere MQ Explorer->Enable Plug-ins
IBM is still investigating. |
