Hi,
when I start my JTEXT connector and JDBC connector alonng with the Message broker tool kit, my connector displayed the following error at start up , and it terminated.

Code:
[ Unable to allocate an initial java heap of 8388608 bytes. ]
[ **Out of memory, aborting** ]
[ ]
[ *** panic: JVMST016: Cannot allocate memory for initial java heap ]

When I check the page file usage (PF) in task manager, it shows 2.70 GB. I have a RAM of 1.5 GB along with a 4 CPU ( 3 Ghz) processors. The OS in Win XP pro.

I then went ahead and increased the the virtual memory to 2.9 GB. It is working fine now. But my colleagues PC has the same configuration and same number of processes, his PF usage is 1 GB. Is there a way to reduce it ?

Do you have lots of applications running on your PC?

This is not a WMQI question, so moving to General Discussion forum.
