I'm currently working as a WebSphere MQ systems admisnistrator and designer (of sorts) and I was just wondering what the 'next' step is (in your opinion). I'm not a programmer, in fact I know little about programming at all, so that 'route' may be out...

I have taken test 294 with no problems, but have yet to tackle 296, I am curious about 'integrator' but honestly don't have a clue what it is, I might ask some silly questions at times, but I do know what I am doing.

What in your opinion is the 'next step'? Right now, the knowledge I have in the position I have is a perfect fit. I'm looking to the future. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
G

Do you want to be a programmer?

If NOT, then don't.

It can be a very rewarding occupation... but it's not for everyone.

If you want to stay an administrator... then you should look at expanding the range of the things you can administer. Look into database administration, look into other kinds of application administration (WebSphere, http server, version control systems). "Integrator", which is now Business Integration Message/Event Broker, is one choice - but you're better off starting with other things.

Many thanks folks... It appears there are options. I just figured without a programming background, I was 'stuck'.

Now it you will excuse me, I've got a ton of reading to do!

Thanks again
