Hi,
We upgraded to CSD08 from CSD06 on Aix 5.2 and MQ5.3.

After the upgrade, tried to start the queue manager and strmqm hangs for ever. No idea what went wrong.
dspmq shows that the queue manager status as Not Available.
Checked the error logs with not much help. Lot of FDC's were thrown. I checked the probe id XC014030 and searched on the IBM site and didn't get to a solution as of now.
Has anyone seen this before? any ideas?

Thanks.

Update...
A system reboot has solved the issue. Still not sure what went wrong.
If anyone has any idea about the root cause, please let me know.

Thanks,
Anirud.

Anirud:

did you make sure before doing the update that all shared memory had been released?

See ipcs (man ipcs)
and /<mqinstall>/bin/amqiclen

If you clear all mq shared memory before the CSD upgrade you will/should not need to reboot.

Enjoy

fjb_saper,
Thanks for the info.

I did make sure that the shared memory was released before the upgrade.
After searching on this yesterday, I found that the error might have been because of some process/processes running (in our case, I think an application). I might have overlooked this process before stopping the queue manager.

Thanks,
Anirud.
