We want to install as follows :

One Solaris host with Sybase broker DB and already existing QM for Production

One Solaris host with Sybase broker DB and already existing QM for UAT

One Solaris host with Sybase broker DBs and already existing QMs for Development & Test

One Win-XP host for Production ConfigMgr with local DB2 database and local QM. This QM is linked to the Solaris QM via Send/Receive channels + Xmit queue

One Win-XP host for UAT ConfigMgr same as Production

One Win-XP host for Development and Test ConfigMgrs ( with different local login IDs )

Various Win-XP hosts with users running WBIMB Toolkits.

When trying to create the second ConfigMgr ( mqsicreateconfigmgr ) for Test after successfully creating one for Development I get BIP8087E ConfigMgr already exists and cannot be created.

This seems to imply that one cannot have > 1 ConfigMgr on the same machine ? Bang goes my budget if I really need to buy 4 different PCs for my ConfigMgrs !

There's no implication.

This is fact. You can not create more than one configuration manager on a single machine.

Not necessarily.

You can configure security such that your two environments have distinct accesses on the SAME config manager.

Please see the documentation for discussion of the Access Control List functions.
