This is a subcontract position for a minimum of three months located
in Tampa, FL. No relocation available.
Responsible for the maintenance and creation of technical documentation, sample programs and training materials for software products targeted at Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Business Process Integration (BPI) markets. Also may be responsible for training customers.
Interfaces with product and development management for determining priorities and meeting customer needs. Works with development staff to obtain technical information. Works hands-on with software products, including programming with APIs, configuration, etc. Organizes information in various forms for different audiences - documentation and training materials for users, administrators and programmers.
Possibility of performing some teaching tasks.
Skills Required:
==========
Must posses programming, technical writing, curriculum development and training skills.
Familiarity with IBM WebSphere MQ design and development.
Application integration, design and development experience in large-scale, mission critical, distributed environments.
Experience with any of the following programming languages: C, C++ or Java.
At a minimum, experience with Windows and UNIX or Linux.
Excellent verbal communication, including a command of the English language and common technical terminology. Ability to speak in front of an audience is a must.
Excellent written communication skills.
Tools - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
The following communications skills are a must to complement technical skills:
Ability to interact with and get along with various personality types.
Ability to listen and absorb technical information.
Ability to learn and adapt to internal processes and tools.
Ability to organize and present information in a concise and coherent form to novices.

Must be a self starter and have a "can do" attitude.
Must be flexible and be capable of switching tasks on short notice and to multi-task.
Tenacity/persistence - must take the initiative to pursue information in a challenging environment and drive tasks to completion with little or no supervision.
Must be hands-on with the technology.
Skills Desired:
=========
Background in multiple operating systems (UNIX, Windows, OS/390, OS/400, Linux, Tandem) and programming languages (C, C++, Java, COBOL, RPG).
JMS, J2EE, Web Services, SOA, CICS, Eclipse, Jboss and similar technical skills
Prefer architectural skills in distributed systems, but also with a firm grounding as a practitioner.
Published technical papers, books or documentation that exhibits this skill would be most beneficial.
Previous teaching experience either in a college setting (adjunct faculty for example) or a professional setting (internal training or commercial for paying customers) is desirable.
Experiencing developing courses and/or presentations.
Leadership/management experience. |
