After a PIX failover or other network interruption, the channels go into a inactive state and have to be recovered manually. The channels are configured with the DISC. INTERVAL = 0, and the HEARTBEAT INTERVAL = 300. Are these setting correct for auto recovery?

No you want to set the channel triggered and make sure the disc interval is at some meaningful value. 0 is not meaningful in the sense that the channel do not stop.
