QVC’s IT division has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a MQSeries / WBI Systems Administrator in our Technical Services department at our Studio Park (West Chester, PA) location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, administering, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting IBM WebSphere MQSeries, WBI and WDI products. The candidate will work on projects and perform administrative duties on existing WebSphere infrastructure. The successful candidate will have the ability to architect a scalable and reliable messaging platform for QVC. The candidate will have the ability to leverage strong written and verbal skills to produce clearly written and well-defined documentation. The candidate will provide post-project support and train other support personnel. The position also requires selection, evaluation and implementation of third party tools and the ability to work with outside vendors as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelors’ degree required in Computer Science, Information Science or related field of study, or equivalent years experience.
· 3+ years recent experience working in a large corporate environment installing, configuring, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting MQSeries queues.
· Strong knowledge and experience with MQ processes, triggers, channels and clustering.
· Knowledgeable and experienced with WebSphere Business Integration (WBI) server and its facilities.
· Experience designing & deploying high availability middleware solutions.
· Must have good internals experience on 2/3 of the listed platforms (NT, UNIX and/or Mainframe).
· Good consultative skills and the ability to work effectively with other systems and development staff, consultants and vendors.
· 2-3 years of project management experience desired with a proven track record of supporting multiple projects, which involve interaction with other systems and departments.
· Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
· Solid organizational, communication and analytical skills.
· Experience with technical documentation, and ability to train other support personnel.
· Good programming or scripting experience desired.
