Do Application using Mqseries needs always to include all the Structure, Functions and constants used by MQI API Calls such as MQCONN,MQOPEN, etc..?
Can they all not be combined into a single DLL and then the VB Program will refer to those Structure,Functions and constants by creating new objects in the program.Is it possible to do it in VB?
This could give advantage of hiding the details of the structure,Functions and constants from the developer and enabling him to focus only on struture parameters which are frequently changing.
For e.g something like this
dim x as new MQSERIES.MQPMO(DLL name.Class name )
x.options=MQSYNCPOINT

Not quite sure if that would be of any benefit or not, unless all your apps which refer to such a Command Dll/program do the same stuff. Because each app has it's own requriements and so it needs to pass in it's own options for the open, put, get and others. You cannot of course generalize this by saying that i would only connect Non-Fastpath, put only persistent messages under syncpoint, for all your applications.
Which kind of leads us to the point where in we must supply some more values/parameters to this Dll. Which eventually brings us to square one. Why not use the calls itself, with a little overhead of writing down the piece of code again and again.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
