I have provided a software matrix for MB installation below.
Please clarify a couple of questions on the prereq software and their location.

Consider a distributed WBIMB setup as follows
1.WRKST1 (Windows Box) : Message Brokers Tool kit
2.WRKST2 (Windows Box) : Config Manager, User Name Server
3.RS12 (AIX Box) : Broker

---------------------
On WRKST1
-----------------------
1.Windows 2000 or XP + Correct Service Pack
Question : Does Toolkit run on NT?

2.JRE 1.3.1
Question :Is it required or does it get installed automatically when installing Toolkit?

3.MDAC
Question:Is it required on the Toolkit Box?

4.IBM Agent Controller
If I need the debugging option , Is it required on Toolkit Box for debugging?

5.WebSphere MQ Client
Question 1: Control Center in 2. 1 used MQClasses for Java to connect. Does Workbench require it too?
Question 2: Is it required or does it get installed with WBIMBV5 Toolkit

6.WBIMB V5 – Message Brokers Toolkit

-------------------------
On machine WRKST2
-------------------------
1.Windows 2000 or XP + Correct Service Pack
Question : Does Configuration Manager Support Windows NT?

2.JRE 1.3.1
Question : Is it required or does it get installed automatically while installing WBIMB V5 Configuration Mgr?

3.MDAC
Question: Is it required on the Config Box?

4.IBM DB2 + Correct FixPack
Question : Is it Mandatory for DB2 Server to be on the same physical m/c as the Config Mgr or can it do with only a DB2 client and have a ODBC connection to a DB2 Server on another m/c?

5.IBM Agent Controller
Question: Is it required on the config box?

6.WebSphere MQ Server 5.3 + Correct CSD

7.WBIMB V5 – Configuration Manager and User Name Server

----------------------------
On machine RS12 (AIX)
----------------------------
1.AIX + Correct Patch

2.JRE 1.3.1

3.What is equivalent of MDAC for Unix?

4.IBM DB2 + Correct FixPack
Question: Is it Mandatory for DB2 Server to be on the same physical m/c as the Broker or can it do with only a DB2 client and have a ODBC connection to a DB2 Server on another m/c?

5.IBM Agent Controller
Question : Is it mandatory to be on the same physical m/c as broker?

6.WebSphere MQ Server 5.3 + Correct CSD

7.WBIMB V5 – Broker and Message Broker Entensions
Question : What does the message broker extensions comprise off ?

What happens when you try to run the installs on a blank machine?

What does the IBM webpage say about support for Windows NT?

I read that Eclipse does not support NT so I guess Toolkit will not.
But the broker can run on NT.

NT is now out of support, so upgrade to higher version. like Windows 2000 or XP.

I am trying to install it on Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Here is the Output of Winver ...
Microsoft (R) Windows
Version 5.0 (Build2195 : Service Pack 4)

But when I launch the Software Prereq , it says incorrect level of Windows
What is the problem now?
The installation manual says both Windows 2000 Advanced and professional with SP3 is supported.

Ignore the error/warning and proceed with further installation. Make sure you install the other prerequisite software first like MDAC, etc.
