hi all,
i don't know too much about mq apart from the basics. anyway, is there a way to determine if MQ performance is slow on a windows server? is there like a support pac or link or a command?
thanks, nathan. _________________ Newbiedude |

Hi Jeff, thnks for the reply. Actually I did a couple of serches on the forum but didn't quite seem to get what I was looking for. Do you have any suggestions, where or what document that might help me out further? _________________ Newbiedude |

You could probably set something up with PerfMon to monitor how much of the systems resources the WMQ Processes are consuming.
As far as MQManager performance, are you seeing anything like Transmit Queue's or other QLocals filling up? If not then I doubt you have an MQ Performance issue. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

Welllllllllll, you could have an app that produces 1 message an hour, and it takes MQ 20 minutes to move it. Your queues are not backing up, but I wouldn't say MQ is performing well, although it is performing good enough!
Make sure you stress test your setup if you are curious about performance.
Read the Performance Support Pack for Windows too.
