Hi

WebSphere MQ - GUI Administration tool (M071) is not a familiar tool for me. But I am in a weird situation, that I have to set up this tool to monitor the Queue managers running on different platforms. I had gone through the Documentation. But it is not clear about what to do and how to do. All the Queue Managers are in Cluster. I guess, I haven't understood the concept itself. Can any one guide me, please? An explanation with an example will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Vinod

Lets say you got QM1 or ServerA that you want to look at.

DBL click on mqmonntp.exe.

When the GUI comes up, go to File....Add Location.

Put QM1 in the Queue Manager box, throw whatever in Location (I just put the QM name again). QM Group is optional, you can play with that after you have dozens of QMs in the GUI.

Check the Client box. Check the Auto Connect Box. Click the Configured button. In the pop up window, add the name of a SRVRCONN channel on QM1 that will allow you to access the QM with MQ admin authority. Fill in "ServerA" for Connection Name.

Click OK to get out of the pop up box, click Add, and your done!

Hi Peter,

Wonderful, it works fine. Thank you so much.

Is the same procedure applicable when the Queue Managers (located on Different machines) are in a Cluster? One of the Queue Manager is a Repository. Cluster channels are already defined. So do the Cluster QMs.

Where do I have to create the Monitor Queue in a clustered environment?

Please bare with me for all these silly questions and advice me.

once again thanks for your advice.

Vinod.

Yes. You would use the same procedure to connect to each QM seperately as a Client.

Cheers,
