Hi all,
How to start work items from Java components located in WebSphere.

From the configuration point of view:
You will have to install the workflow java agent on the machine where WAS is running.

From the development point of view:
Any java APIs that you use in standalone java workflow programs will work with WAS java program.

Look at the application programming guide of workflow for the java api.

If you will look more specifically into the documentaion of Workflow Webclient, that will give you more insight on Working of Workflow Java component on Websphere. Refer to Chapter 69 in Workflow Programming Guide for more details.
