Hi all,
I have some general queries about how the MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels counts (that we set in the qm.ini files) affect the performance as a whole. They are..
1)Does these parameters just applicable to the SVRCONN connection
channel ?
2)If I have higher values of the MaxChannels ,say 2500,then what are the
resources that these channels will consume.
3) Will higer count hamper the performance ,if yes, how?
4)Most importantly, does the resources are reserved for the channel
when we define the count or they come in picture only if channel is
running ...What I mean is ..if I define the MaxChannel count to be 2000 in qm.ini files but currently my running channels are 1000 only. Now in this case MQ will consume the resources of 1000 channels or 2000 channels |

1. No, all channels
2. Shared memory, about 1k per channel defined in MaxChannels
3. No.
4. The shared memory is allocated when the qmgr starts. to get MaxChannels * amount of memory immediately, so this particular resource is not affected by how many channels are running, |
