How do I add the dead letter header to an MQMessage?
Does it get populated automatically?
The IBM dox make no mention of the dead letter queue and messages other than assigning the format "~DEAD_LETTER"....

thanks in advance

No, the DLH is not added automatically when you write a message to the DLQ. You have to build it yourself.

But, why do you want to write a message to the DLQ.

If you are using it to handle 'poison messages', then I'd suggest using another queue (instead of the system DLQ) and design your message to have your own header (or the RFH2) to contain application specific information.

Cheers,
