Can I have both SSL channel and non-SSL channel between the same 2 QMGRs.
I started with 2 QMGRs QM1 and QM2 and have them talking to each other using standard MQM channels ( no SSL)
the pair of channles used are
QM1.TO.QM2 (sender on QM1)
QM2.TO.QM1 (sender on QM2)

I then define another pair after I installed certificates in Key rpository
QM1.TO.QM2.SSL
QM2.TO.QM1.SSL

While I am working on the SSL channels, there is a need for transmission between the QMGRs. So I tried to start the non-SSL channels. They went into retry status. The error logs says that they do not have the cipher spec specified or something like that.

Does it mean that SSL and non-SSL channels cannot coexists ??? or did I do anything wrong ?

As long as you have different transmission queues, you can definitley have SSL and non-SSL channels.

Based on the errors, looks like you have not assigned certificates or something like that.

Sorry, my own mistake. A typo in the cipher spec. Yes, SSL and non-SSL can coexist
