I was wondering if there are any other ISPF based products with similar features as PQEDIT. Our environment is large – 61 z/OS MQM’s and 100’s of distributed MQM’s. The company is made up of 3 merged companies. So RACF Security is yet to be standardized. So moving to a SERVER based queue editor would be difficult from a configuration and security standpoint for the z/OS MQM's.

I am not aware that IBM (Candle) has dropped support of ISPF PQEDIT - yet. They might not be selling it though. Suggestions?

I seem to recall that Candle was going to replace PQEdit with something comparable, although you would have to pay for it. You may want to check it out with Candle - oops, I mean IBM.

Hi,

If you are interested in a Message Editor that can connect to z/OS queue manager but run on your PC (or Unix/Linux box) then may I suggest that you try out MQ Visual Edit.

It has all the features of PQEdit plus more and it can connect to ANY platform where a queue manager has a listener running (z/OS requires CAF to be installed).

For more information or to try out a 30-day trial version of MQ Visual Edit go to:

Yes...we have a license for PATHWAY editor (replacement for PQEDIT). But the security piece would be difficult as I explained earlier. Our shop is so large and we own so many IBM/Candle products that PQEDIT cost to us is very nominal.

I was wondering if there was another ISPF based Q editor I might be unaware of.

Thanks!
