Just curious if anyone out there is running WB-IMB Broker domains with more than one OS represented. For instance, some of your broker are Windows, and others are Solaris, etc.

Or does everyone basically just use one OS for their brokers?

In the case of mixed OSs, is there any concern that the platforms are different?

Hi Peter,

Do you mean that your toolkit broker domain having brokers from different platforms?

If so, I have multiple brokers (Windows, Solaris, AIX). If this is not what you meant, please explain in detail.

Peter,

In my previous project we had brokers on Windows and Solaris platform. We did not have any problems in that environment due to platform differences. We made sure that all of them have same CSD installed.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I knew it was technically possible, just wondering if people were doing it.

Has anyone put brokers running on different platforms in the same broker domain AND in the same MQ cluster, so that one incoming message could be processed by Windows, or Unix, you would never know.

That is my real concern. I know it shouldn't matter which platform processes the message, but just wondering....

I had one problem on 2.1, AIX and Windows constructed the exception list differently. That's the only problem I encountered, although I would be wary of differences in the ODBC drivers on different platforms, especially the ultra-flaky oracle drivers.
