How can i find when the QM was last started?

Look in the error log file for the qmgr:
<mqtop>/qmgrs/<QMGRNAME>/errors/AMQERR01.LOG

Go to the bottom of the file and search backwards for message AMQ8003.
You will find an entry similar to :

11/04/2004 19:55:26
AMQ8003: WebSphere MQ queue manager 'my.queue.manager' started.

EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'my.queue.manager' started.
ACTION:
None.

Also, you can turn on Stop and Start events for the Queue Manager, and the start event will be logged as a message in a queue.

From the events manual.....

Quote:

Start and stop events (z/OS supports only start) indicate that a queue manager has been started or has been requested to stop or quiesce.
Stop events are not recorded unless the default message-persistence of the SYSTEM.ADMIN.QMGR.EVENT queue is defined as persistent.
