I'm new to MQ so please be break it down for me . I'm trying to install MQ Series on Solaris 9. I run the MQLicense.sh script and then I run pkgadd -d mq_solaris (which is the package right from the CD). Once the application installs successfully (or I guess unsuccessfully in my case) it give me the following error after running 'crtmqm <qname>':

AMQ5615: Default objects cannot be created: CompCode = 0 Reason = 0.

Then I try running 'strmqm <qname>' and get the following:

ld.so.1: dltmqm: fatal: libdce.so.3: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed

Can anyone help? Please!

Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen this problem but will state my usual installation procedure.

create filesystem to install (seperate physical disks for /var/mqm and /var/mqm/logs)

create mqm group and mqm user

stay as root

run the license script

pkdadd the app
pkgadd the latest CSD (currently

then as mqm
setmqcap to the number of processors you have.

crtmqm <qmgr_name>
strmqm <qmgr_name>

According to the above post, it appears you selected the DCE option during the install process and maybe you shouldn't have.

IBM wrote:
To use the supplied name service component, you must have the OSF Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) Directory Service configured. This service enables applications that connect to one queue manager to open queues that belong to another queue manager in the same DCE cell.

I'm not an MQ admin, but I thought I remembered a question during the install that asks if you wish to install the DCE option.
