I need to stop and start the QM on AIX do i need to inform other partners to check theit QM's.Other QM s are on OS/390 and Windows.

In most cases, you don't "need" to have them check their MQManagers but if there is monitoring set up for the channels, you may want too, as a matter of courtesy, notify them of your activity.

I agree with Chris; it would also prevent your partners opening a problem report with IBM as well!

Guys,

Thanks. The person who was looking after MQ left the job suddenly so i have to figureout what is going on. I was checkking for the DEADLETTER QUEUE handler i coudnt see it running. I actually searched for the process "runmqdlq" but i couldnt find it.I guess he may be running through some shell script, any suggestions on this??

I may put some basic or silly questions as i go figureing out my system. Please dont get frustrated.

He may be running it manually through a shell script. He might also be running it as a cron job so that it isn't always running. It might also be triggered based on the depth of the queue.

Or he may not have run it ever. Just because it was avaliable doesn't mean it was used.
