I have installed Websphere MQ 5.3 Server and Client on a MS Server 2003 PC. I have my Queue Manager and Que setup. I have tried setting up all of the different channels types but everytime I try the MQCONN from my Client application I get the following error -
----- amqrmrsa.c : 467 --------------------------------------------------------
11/15/2004 12:40:43
AMQ9502: Type of channel not suitable for action requested.

EXPLANATION:
The operation requested cannot be performed on channel '2003ServerToClient'.
Some operations are only valid for certain channel types. For example, you can
only ping a channel from the end sending the message.
ACTION:
Check whether the channel name is specified correctly. If it is check that the
channel has been defined correctly.
----- amqrmsaa.c : 1012 -------------------------------------------------------
11/15/2004 12:40:43
AMQ9999: Channel program ended abnormally.

EXPLANATION:
Channel program '2003ServerToClient' ended abnormally.
ACTION:
Look at previous error messages for channel program '2003ServerToClient' in the
error files to determine the cause of the failure.
----- amqrmrsa.c : 467 --------------------------------------------------------
Is there something different you need to setup when your Server and Client reside on the same PC? I have tried defining the Channel as everything available except the Clustor Channels.

This is my first setup of MQ.

Thanks for any help or insight into this problem.

From a command promt you set MQSERVER variable and then try amqsputc
Code:

SET MQSERVER=Channel1/TCP/172.25.184.243(1414)
amqsputc SYSTEM.DEFAULT.LOCAL.QUEUE CSQREM1

If you can put the message your program is wrong if not your setpu is wrong.
