Hi,

I am writing a script to install gsk6bas, WMQ 5.3 and CSD5 initially for Solaris 8.

Using the script from mq_series/silent I have no problem installing gsk6bas and WMQ using admin and response files.

However I am not able to silently install CSD5 - pkgask fails like this :

Processing package instance <mqm-upd05> from </var/tmp/WMQ53_Sol_E113/csd5/mqm-U487899.img>

WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris 2 - U487899
(sparc) 5.3.0

ERROR: The package selected for installation () is already installed
on this system.

I have checked that csd5 is not already installed.

If I manually create a response file pkgadd still prompts me.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Stefan

Do you mean you are using the script silent.sh from the original WebSpere MQ CD? If so, you will need to change the product name on the pkgadd command from 'mqm' to 'mqm-upd05'.

Hi,

Sorry I was unclear - no I've modified the script. I can't get pkgadd to install the csd in silent mode.

Cheers
Stefan

This works:

pkgadd -a admin -r response -d ../csd5/mqm-U487899.img mqm-upd05 >>/var/tmp/mq.install 2>&1
