Hi,
I am having trouble figuring out if the LU 6.2 protocol is supported on AIX. On the WebSphere MQ System Administration Guide (5.3), under 'runmqlsr', the following is stated:
Required parameters
-t The transmission protocol to be used:
tcp Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
lu62 SNA LU 6.2 (Windows NT and Windows 2000 only)
netbios NetBIOS (Windows NT and Windows 2000 only)
spx SPX (Windows NT and Windows 2000 only)
udp User datagram protocol (UDP) (AIX only)
Now, on IBM's site, there is a pdf document (http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/v53/g325-1990-01.pdf)
called 'Websphere MQ for AIX, version 5.3' and it states the following:
Connectivity
• Communication hardware supporting Systems Network Architecture (SNA) LU 6.2 and TCP/IP
Can someone tell me which protocols are supported on AIX?
Thx |

TCP and UDP come with AIX. SNA requires an IBM product to be installed.
Do you mean which comms protocols does AIX support or which ones does Websphere MQ on AIX support? |

LU6.2 is supported on AIX, but not as a transmission protocal in runmqlsr

LU6.2 on receiver type channels is implemented by defining an invocable TP in snaadmin. See the Intercomms manual for how to do this. |
