We have a report of excessive MIPS being used by one of our z/OS queue managers (WMQ 5.3).
Are there any tips to reduce the MIPS consumption of mainframe MQ? - the application is reading very large numbers of messages over client channels. The queues are being read FIFO (not matching on any message or correlation ids).
Windows platforms (MQ client) getting from a z/OS MQ queue manager.
The (persistent) messages are being got without using syncpoint - would it be better to get several of them under syncpoint and then commit in batchs?

One of the things that I remember from the conference was a demo that increased the number of messages in a batch for a syncpoint. There was a noticeable improvement going from just 1 message to 50 messages.
