I have been successfully using MO71 for all our windows queue managers for some time now, however we have recently added an AS/400 queue manager into the mix but I can't seem to get MO71 to work with it.

I have limited access to the AS/400 but it looks like the client channel starts up ok and my homegrown Status monitor can connect to the AS400 qmgr without any problems...but MO71 isn't returning anything. It just sits and waits. The AS400 guy says that there is a message on the log saying :

Quote:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10/28/04 10:01:33
AMQ7163: WebSphere MQ job 1776 started for AQDV.

EXPLANATION:

Cause . . . . . : The job's PID is 1776 the CCSID is 37. The job name is
608434/QMQM/AMQZLAA0.
Recovery . . . : None

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there anything special I need to do in order to get MO71 talking to the AS/400? Is it even possible?

I know it is possible with z/OS. So it should be possible with AS/400.

Is the command server started?

Nope...apparently it wasn't. (wonder why it doesn't startup by deafult?)

That was what it was. All is working now.

Thank you

I don't think it starts by default.
