Hi,
- we have a sun solaris box with Websphere Application Server version 5.1.0.0 already installed
- we dont know if the client code has been installed at the same time when installing the WAS (if that possible?)
- we also want to have a client mqseries 5.3 installed in this machine:
+ is that possible?
- perhaps this operation has no sense?
+ in that case can we install the client code (macy_withSSL.tar ) downloaded from: <http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=203&uid=swg24006126&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en>
+ also: the package gsk7bas is already installed
- can we install the gsk6bas comming with the client code in macy_withSSL.tar?

Yes, depending on the version.

Yes definately.

No it makes sense, as if nothing else your client code may be newer then the version that came with it. You need to use client connections with Websphere if you want to connect to more then one queue manager.

Sure, looks like the right thing.

I don't know but I bet it will work fine.

do we need to do anything like with WAS or the embedded jms server before we can go ahead with the standard MQ client install.

Yes, you can have both 6 and 7 on the same machine:
# pkginfo |grep gsk
application gsk6bas Certificate and SSL Base Runtime (gsk6bas)
application gsk7bas Certificate and SSL Base Runtime (gsk7bas)
