Hello ppl

I have installed MQWF 3.5 SP1 on Win XP SP1. In order to eliminate future java problems with pathnames with spaces in them I installed MQWF in c:\ibm\mqwf and not the default folders c:\program files...

When I complete the Config utility (everything else is fine!) i get these messages

FMC33997E Failed to open file(s) '...\IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow\WebSphere MQ Wor
kflow Buildtime - FMC.lnk' for write access.
FMC33997E Failed to open file(s) '...\IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow\WebSphere MQ Wor
kflow Client - FMC.lnk' for write access.
FMC33997E Failed to open file(s) '...\IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow\WebSphere MQ Wor
kflow Administration Utility - FMC.lnk' for write access.

Now please forive me.. but either I am doing wrong or the config util is doing something wrong?

The result of course is that my entries for the admin utility and buildtime is not created.

Any ideas what I should do?

Thanks
Calabi

I think you are just missing the links. You can use the command Line commands to open your buildtime and admin tool.

Hi,

the *.lnk files are the shortcuts the MQ Workflow config utility creates in the Start menu of Windows.

The UserId you are using to run the config utility needs administrative rights to create entries in the Start->Programs folder.
It is recommed that you create the configuration with a UserId that is member of the Administrators group, because it requires rights to create services, databases, shortcuts, etc.

To fix your problem, you should drop the failing configuration and recreate a new configuration with a UserId with sufficient access rights.

Hos:

Your explaination above will answer some of my problems I had recently (short cuts not being created). Infact someone else did the installation and I had to do the testing for them. And also one more thing I observed was "fmczreg.ini" file is also not created in the Workflow installation folder.
I tried to run the "fmczreg" command and it was failing because it could not find this "fmczreg.ini" file.

Hos, anyways thanks again for your help on that MQ error:2019 problem that I had on Mainframe WAS .

Thanks

Hos

thanks for the reply. The user ID I am using most definitely is part of the administrator group. I have used this ID to install WAS, DB2,MQ,ICS,Message Broker etc.. So I know it is the correct ID, i think something else is going wrong.

Cheers
Calabi
