WebSphere Administrator and Architect
Reports to: Systems Engineering
v Description: Working in the Application Support organizations, serve in a Lead Operations role for WebSphere Support. This position will require working with the development team to ensure operational consistency crossing all WebSphere implementations.
v Responsibilities: Primary operations support for, crossing development, QA and Production environment for:
Ø WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
Ø WebSphere Business Integrator (WBI)
Ø WAS Support includes
§ Configure/Tune environment
§ Configure resources: e.g. JDBC, MQ JMS.
§ Configure Application Servers
§ Deploy applications
Ø WBI Support Includes
§ Define, manage message brokers
§ Deploy message flows (.bar files)
§ Tuning WebSphere Business Integration Server Infrastructure i.e.:
· Adapters – polling frequency and polling quantity
· Use of Multiple MQ listener Threads
§ Design/tuning of database used to hold broker business data
· Placement of database table spaces
· Sizing/use of database cross-reference tables
· Placement/use of logs
§ Design of Broker Domain and associated Execution Groups that level out resources for processing, facilitate recovery and minimize maintenance
Ø MQ Support Includes
§ Design of Broker Queue Manager and connected Queue Managers
§ Define queues
§ Manage queues
§ Define and manage Queue Clusters
§ Lead installation and configuration of new environments working with Enterprise Architecture Group
§ Responsible for consistency and stability of all environments.
§ Manages problem resolution with IBM and individual project teams.

WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker Developer
Reports to: Interface Team
v Description: Working on the Interface Team, providing architect/development Interface Solution for PeopleSoft implementation.
v Responsibilities: Primary architect for best practices in development of message flows and ESQL programming, meeting both large scale development, QA and Productions environments.
Ø WebSphere Business Integrator (WBI)
§ Significant hands-on experience with WebSphere WBIMB
§ Solid understanding of the various primitive nodes and development of custom nodes
§ Experience working with reusable components (subflows)
§ Working knowledge of the MRM and XML message domains
§ Understands the relationship between physical and logical message models
§ Proficient in using the Control Center and message flow trace utilities and other tools to assist in message flow development.
§ Define, manage message brokers
§ Deploy message flows (.bar files)
§ Tuning WebSphere Business Integration Server Infrastructure i.e.:
