i install mq in windows 2000 server ,but i cann't not start listener,
the error message is that process has terminate, return code is 20
then i install csd07,but the problem still exist,the listener still not start,
it baffled me.

Do you already have some other process listening on that port? (use netstat -a)

Do you have an orphaned runmqlsr process stuck on that port? (use taskmanager to see if there is a runmqlsr exe running even after you stopped all of MQ)

in event log:
A communications error for TCP/IP occurred.

EXPLANATION:
An unexpected error occurred in communications.
ACTION:
The return code from the TCP/IP (ioctlsocket) call was 10106 (X'277A').
Record these values and tell the systems administrator.


i use netstat ,1414 is not occupy by other processes

see if you can find the tcp/ip return code in some manual (or search on internet).

Can u check the AMQERR logs and see if there are any errors recorded!
btw have u checked for the orphaned runmqlsr?
10106 == The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized.

According to a search on the Microsoft Web page for 10106:

seems to be some sort of resource problem.

at last ,i re-install windows 2000 server,
the problem has been solved,the listener can start.
