We have a solaris 2.9 box with many queue managers. We just had to bump up the kernel parameters for semaphores. This got me wondering, does anybody know how many semaphores mq uses? Is there a formula to figure this out?

Yes,

I know what the doc says. What I would like to know is more along the lines of:

What is the semaphore usage when a qmgr is started up?
When you open 1, 10, 100 queues?
When 50 channels are running?
When processing a queue with 1000 messages?
