Hi,
I have an issue for which I have fallen short of ideas.
I have developed a Security Exit based on BLOCKIP to run on Win2K m/c's with MQ Websphere for Windows v5.3 installed.
Now, this exit works on certain m/c and do not work on certain m/c(all Win2k with MQ Server installed for testing)
For Testing purposes in the Entry Point of the DLL ,I have coded (in the very first line) to open a file and wite "Invoked".
Now this Exit dll (when configured) works on my m/c
The Exit dll when configured on a PARTICULAR m/c(same config as mine) does not work BUT when tried on other m/c's WORK.
I am interested in finding out why it does not WORK on THAT m/c.
That m/c has our Application (not the exit) communicating with MQ working perfectly fine.
I have done the following tests on that m/c:
1) Without the Exit configured the channels start perfectly fine
2) With the Exit configured (As Channel Prop + physical dll present in the Exits folder) the channel RUNS (BUT the FILE Does not get written - path is perfect - No log files get generated even though the Exit writes it)
Hence this raises a doubt whether the Exit is being INVOKED in the first place on that m/c
3) Keeping the Exit configured as CHANNEL properties, I have removed the PHYSICAL dll from the Exits path
(The channel then goes in RETRY state. Therefore the Conclusion till here is that MQ is Definetely SEARCHING for the DLL BUT the MAIN Entry point into the DLL is NOT being called- FILE/Logs are not being generated even though its the first line of code in the ENTRY point function)
Where does it write the file? I would bet that the userid the exit is executing under (eg. musr_mqadmin or a configured domain id) isnt authorize to write to the location you are trying to.
Try running filemon (www.sysinternals.com) across a channel startup, and search the output for your dll name and then your filename - any access denied errors?
