By looking at the Quick Beginning Document for the SOLARIS system, it doesn't seem to be possible.
We are new to this tool, and what we are trying to do is to have two separate MQ Admin accounts which would administer two separate groups of MQM's. Is this possible and are there any good methods for accomplishing this?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Regards,
Justin |

The drawback with Solaris is that one cannot install more than one Installation on a box. In fact it does not allow you to install untill you remove the existing installation.
The only other way out would be to create a different group with equal permissions as the mqm or lower to serve your purpose.
Cheers

Hi Justin,
why do you need separate installation of MQSeries?
Maybe configuring several queue managers is suffient.

Like Justin said, maybe creating separate qmgrs on the same Solaris box is the answer. In addition, you might look into creating two groups in /etc/group because the permissions you set up is based on groups. Also keep in mind that if you put more than one QMGR on this box, each QMGR will need to have a separate port assigned to it (ie. 1415, 1416, and so on...) |
