When MQ is writing to the /var/mqm/log/QMGRNAME/active logs and it needs to start writing to a file that already contains data. Does it write to the file in a FIFO fasion or does it clear the contents of the existing file and start writing to the now empty file? _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

Why do you care?
Really. It's not going to affect anything you do, it's not anything you can use for tuning...
And it's also probably something you can check yourself, by monitoring the file size. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Ahh.
That's what the documentation is for.
Dump a bunch of printouts on his desk, and say "I'm sure it's in here somewhere, but $BIGBOSS needs me to do XYZ, so I can't give you anything more than this." _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I think the comments made by newwmq are not appropriate in the technical forum. I think it would be better if we keep the general discussion comments and concerns to general discussion forum. I think if we bring the general discussion forum comments here, it might tamper the technical knowledge of this forums.
anyways, that's just me. If nobody has a problem, then I don't.
I am making these comments in general and nothing personal. Please disregard if my comments are inappropriate.
Regards. |

I agree with Anirud. Please keep all non tech subjects and comments to yourself. Or the General Discussion forum. _________________ Peter Potkay

I agree with both of you. That's why I didn't respond to newwmq in this thread. =] _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |
