HI guys !..

I am actually developed a MQ Servlet (IN JAVA) which does a number of MQ requests(nested) like

1. MQCONN
2.MQOPEN
3MQPUT
4.MQSET
5.MQCMIT
6.MQBACK
7.MQCLOSE
8.MQDISC

and am running it on AIX..

But something which puzzles me is that does an MQDISC really disconnect from the QMGR ...coz after i run the servlet ...i have tried to access the qmgr through the terminal window ....
I could easily access the qmgr without running

"runmqsc" agian ...which indicates tht the MqDISC really did not disconnect from the Qmgr..then wht should be really happening ..

Can anyone throw a ray of light on this ..

There is a difference between Disconnecting from a queue manager and Stopping a queue manager. If you disconnect using MQDISC, it will not end the queue manager, it is just closing the connections to the queue manager.

Can u plz explain wht exactly means by "closing the connections to a queue manager"..coz we are trying to use a Data Collector to capture and display all the MQ events and correlations happening on the VE(visual interface)
