Currently, I need to setup a MQWF system with high availability support in AIX environment, I've read through the old posts here and want to confirm serveral things before start:
(1)Is it a must to have a client concentrator setup to achieve high availability by MQ cluster?
(2)According to the installation guide, MQ client should be installed in the machine which will connect to client concentrator. However, for the Web Client machine, it requires MQ Server to be installed. If I want the Web Client use Group logon via client concentrator (in order to achieve high availability), which one (MQ Client or MQ Server) should be installed in the Web Client machine for connecting to the client concentrator?
(3)Does the client concentrator route the logon to Primary system by default if all systems in system group are active?
(4)Does the client concentrator only route the request to (for example) system B if MQWF service of system A is down ? Or it needs both MQ Manager and MQWF service are down?

First question is, is it a HACMP setup for your worflow server that you think is High Availability |

Actually, I don't want to use HACMP for achieving high availability (That is I'm not using the supportpac WC61)
In concept and architecture guide, it stated that MQWF could acheive high availability by MQ Cluster (creating more than one systems in system group). I would like to use this method to achieve high availability.

I would have 2 AIX machines for configuring two MQWF Server, 2 AIX machine for configuring two Web Clients. I'm not sure whether I should add 1 more machine for acting as client concentrator.
I would like to test if the Web Client can still logon to MQWF systems if one of the MQWF Server is down. |
