Hi,
Installed MQ5.3 on Linux (Redhat 9).
While I was trying to create a Queue Manager, got this error

crtmqm: relocation error: /opt/mqm/lib/libmqmr_r.so:symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0
not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

I tried the work around, by exporting the environment variable
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
then tried to create the queue manager, got a segmentation fault.
dspmq shows queue manager ended immediately.
nothing under /var/mqm/qmgrs/QMGR/errors & /var/mqm/log.
Then I tried to delete the queue manager, got the following error
Log path not valid or inaccessible

did some research on this error, found WebSphere MQ V5.3 has a bug when the default
setting, LogDefaultPath=/var/mqm/log on Sun Solaris
(http://216.239.39.104/search?q=cache:XAdnFazYpGoJ:docs.sun.com/db/doc/817-1713/6mhe5bci7%3Fa%3Dview+Log+path+not+valid+or+inaccessible&hl=en)

I am not sure if this has to do anything with Linux.
Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks for your time,
Anirud.

Trying to install the latest CSD (CSD07).
Will let you know if this problem persist.

Sorry for posting the question without checking the CSD level.

Thanks.

Things went well after the CSD07 install.
The error "Log path not valid or inaccessible" was because the /var/mqm/log was owned by root. Changed the owner to mqm and created the queue manager. It's up and running.

Thanks.
