Does SSL on MQ 5.3 use "resumable SSL sessions"?

We did some testing and found that with SSL enabled there was a significant impact to performance.

We are looking at the nCipher nFast 800 board.

Are there any others that work with Sun Solaris 8 ( sparc ) with MQ 5.3 ?

TIA

From my experience in the Web, you are going to see a significant hit even with the Hardware Acl.(which is just a slaved processor with some firmware and memory). After all, it's still going to take time; its a law of physics/nature/computing.
With all the connecting and disconnecting that MQ does automatically between Queue Managers, I would be suprised if that the SSL handshake was resumable normally. (Which actually means the hdwr acl might make some serious gains.) However, if you have highly loaded queue managers I would expect you to see less of a hit/advantage.
The other thing you want to make sure is that the hardware is guaranteed to work with MQ. Most of these products are aimed at high volume ecommerce and aren't all that configrable. The last one I looked at only worked on standard SSL HTTPS ports. See if you can get a testdrive from the vendor first.
