Hi,

I want to make the server connection channel that MQSI uses bullet proof by using an exit. I don't want to rely on NT security. The issue I have is ensuring that no other clients are able to connect via that server connection channel. I am told that this is not possible without IBM altering the source code. Can anyone confirm or deny this??

Kind Regards

Hi,

MQSI uses the base MQ Java classes in client mode to
connect to the QMgr of your ConfigManager.
The MQ Java classes contain a static class called
MQEnvironment which has method which allow you to
install a ChannelExit (e.g. a security exit).
You cannot install this by changing a config file,
hence one must alter the source code.
If you are of the daring sort you could go and grab a
dissambler for Java an unravel the MQEnvironment class
in the Tools/classes/com.ibm.mq.jar package of your
MQSI install directory and add a statement or two to
define a default ChannelExit (which you would have
to write first of course). This will work unless the
control center developers explicitly *nulled* the
ChannelExit in their code.
