There are message flows that appear when doing an mqsilist command that are not visible in broker topology within the toolkit. We are version 5.0 csd3 with broker on AIX and config mgr on win2000.
I'm pretty sure that the scenario is the developer tries to remove from the execution group, but encounters an error. It is gone from the toolkit view, but the developer has no idea that it is still has not fully removed from the execution group.
Hope can we eloquently remove that message flow from the execution group? The only thing that works is "remove deployed children" from the toolkit. Unfortunately that removes ALL deployed message flows - not just the hidden one. We have tried mqsireload. I believe that we have also tried mqsistop/start and stop/starting the config manager.

How do you know whether the message flow is still there? Is it processing messages? Did you look at the open input count of the queue specified in your MQInput node? _________________ Kiran

This issue occurs when your broker loses access to the broker database during the processing of an instruction(message) from the toolkit. (I've seen it happen when the DBAs decided to "force" out the users.) The proper way to resolve it is to remove the "bad" execution group entries from the database manually. The table you need to look at and clean up is BROKERAAEG. This is all on the IBM site if you search for "rogue execution groups" under MQ Family support.
You'll notice that they will continue to process messages untill you do this and they show up under the OS process list. _________________ Patrick Goodhart
