We are using Java making MQI calls with MQ for our applications.What are the things that are to be taken care off from the Java application.

I have taken care of the

MSG_CORRELATION_ID
WAIT_INTERVAL


What other things I should be aware to build up a good application module.

Your suggestions are welcome!

Set MQMD.format to MQFMT_STRING on MQPUT

Use MQGET with CONVERT, WAIT

Use SYNCPOINT on MQGET to protect against message loss (but check backout count to prevent a loop).

Keep queues open between repeated message gets and puts.

Set Expiry interval on non-persistent messages.

Only use persistent messages where you need MQ recovery of data.

Re-connect automatically if the queue manager is stopped and restarted.

Allow your adapter to close down on operator request or queue manager quiesce.

Check for MQ error codes and handle common ones, display others.

And so on....
