Hi guys,

I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me to a website(s) that does benchmarking tests of various messaging middleware options like MQSeries, Tibco, etc.

Thanks!

I would say that there are no such sites. Vendors sometimes commission comparative tests for sales purposes.

If performance is really important, the best approach is to get your short-list of vendors to provide (or assist in) a proof of concept implementation and to benchmark it yourself.

However basic performance data on Websphere MQ is available (free) as an IBM support pac.

Remember to compare like with like, eg persistent messages and syncpointing can make a huge difference to performance.

Thanks for the reply, zpat. I've managed to find some websites that do head-to-head benchmark comparisons of a couple of MOMs, but I've also found many dead links referring to a PDF file on benchmark comparison of FioranoMQ vs MQSeries.

However, on all the sites, it seems this PDF doc was removed from the active list.

Is there anyone on the forum who still possesses the document?

Thanks!

IBM have enhanced MQ performance considerably over the last few releases and so unless your requirement was extremely unusual I would say that other considerations (such as vendor strength, support, platforms etc) would be more important.

Most of the links I found concern other MOMs or they refer to older versions of MQSeries. The only one (that I can find so far) that does a head-to-head benchmark comparison with WebSphere MQ is the Sun Java System Message Queue:
